Biography

1949 Born in Abayad, Egypt and educated in England. 1966-70 Trained and employed as an illustrator with the Royal Army Medical Corps, England 1977 Lived in Israel. First exhibition of work “In a Strange Land” at the Sea Gull Gallery, Jaffa 1978-82 Studied at Southampton College of Art and Design, England. During this time painted miniatures to supplement his student grant. 1982-83 Artist in Residence at The Lang Street Project in Melbourne, Australia 1985 Travelled to Papua New Guinea to paint the life and myths of the Sepik River region 1995 Paints the first “Waterfront Series” in Australia 1997-present Lecturer at Victoria College of Art and Design, Victoria, BC.
Since 1992 Andrew has been a hospice volunteer at the palliative care Unit at Victoria General Hospital. He lives and paints in Victoria
